11am - Softwash Training Solutions
Michael Conway, Director/Trainer at Softwash Training Solutions
10 mins + 5 min Q&A
After over forty years in the property care and maintenance industry, with over twelve of those concentrating on the exterior cleaning business and being at the forefront of soft washing in Ireland, Michael has been watching the explosion of the rapidly expanding Softwash industry closely.
As supplier of Professional Biocide he knew he had a responsibility to his customers to ensure that they were safe and effective when using his product. He also recognised that he had a passion for sharing information and went back to college in 2012 to gain his Train the Trainer teaching qualification. He then began running Training Days which provided information and instruction in the use of Biocides.
The content of that one day course that began running 6 years ago has grown and evolved with the industry and in March of this year Michael, together with the guidance and support of Kevin Gifford who came on board in 2016 as Health & Safety Consultant, and his wife Maureen who takes care of all the admin and training co-ordination, launched the first ever City & Guilds Assured Softwashing programme in the UK and Ireland, in fact globally! It is currently the only Softwash training programme that is recognised by a training body or to have an award upon completion and the uptake has been encouraging.
In this seminar Michael will share why he feels that training is so important for the future of the industry and how he intends to introduce a go to Professional Register of Softwashers that customers can access to find contractors, check out their credentials and training gained in chemical cleaning, giving them assurance and peace of mind that they are hiring a contractor who is qualified to do the job and follows best practice.
